Elena Buenrostro is a content creator, Part 107 licensed drone pilot, educator, brand marketer at Google and the Founder of Women Who Drone, an online platform and community that inspires, educates and empowers women and girls with drone technology. Elena is also an international public speaker sharing her drone knowledge at conferences and universities worldwide including World of Drones Congress, AUVSI FAA Symposium, Girl Scouts of America, Girl's Inc and Columbia University amongst many more. Elena's drone work has been featured in The Washington post, Fast Company, DJI, The Verge, FierceMitu, Drone Life and many more publications.
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Elena's drone journey began on the Great Wall of China where she captured it with her drone. From there, she discovered a whole new perspective and passion for aerial photography and videography. Prior to Women Who Drone, Elena worked as TV Producer, Writer, and Host producing and hosting a nationally airing television show titled, Behind The Gates on WealthTV, where she toured some of the most luxurious properties around the world. She also featured classic cars, luxury yachts, and French castles to 20.5 million households across the nation, parts of the Caribbean and Asia.
Elena has also created over 350 viral short-form cooking and DIY videos for jumblejoy.com that reached a combined audience of over 100 million and in 2016 moved to San Francisco to work for Brit.co where she produced, directed and hosted their online classes, Snap Chat and Facebook Live videos.
In October 2017, Elena founded Women Who Drone, an online female drone pilot community that inspires, educates and empowers women and girls with drone technology. Through content curation, pilot spotlights, drone education and career opportunities, Women Who Drone is helping pave the way for women in the growing drone industry.
