So, I bought a drone. Not sure if I told you, but I'm going on my first trip to Asia and I want to shoot aerial footage. I bought the GoPro Karma, which came with the GoPro 5 Black, GoPro Karma Grip and the backpack and controller although you can buy them all separately as well (check out my unboxing video the package here). I thought it was a pretty good deal as a package coming in at $1192.42. If you really think about it, that's not a bad deal, but this really wasn't my only reasoning behind buying a drone. So, I put together three reason why I bought a drone.
You Feel Like You Have Wings
1. Who doesn't wish they could fly? In a sense, flying a drone is almost like you have wings of your own. Without the scariness and all the education you need to be a real plane pilot, flying a drone almost gives you the same feeling of being a pilot without actually having to get certified, except with A LOT more flexibility.
Tell A Different Story
2. My second reason is if you're a filmmaker or video enthusiast like me, a drone will give you the ability to capture a shot for your video that will add so much more value and appreciation to and for your project. I must also say that you will feel pretty proud of the drone footage you shoot considering this type of footage was not easy to obtain not too long ago.
3. Back in the day when you were just beginning to document your travels or say your life... I don't think many people thought they'd ever be able to fly their camera in the air at a cheap price. Maybe you don't have $1200 lying around to buy a drone, however, if you do and you're thinking about buying your next camera gadget, this should be your answer. But don't take my word for it. Go buy one and see for yourself. If you hate it, most places have a 30-day return policy on it, even unboxed. There is one thing for sure, there's no doubt you will be proud of the drone footage you shoot! Let me know if you have any questions about my experience with a drone.
